This is what you\u2019d have for your&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Title: Risk factors for single-cell squamous carcinoma in community-dwelling old-old adults: A longitudinal study&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Abstract: This study aims to uncover specific risk factors for single-cell squamous carcinoma in community-dwelling old-old adults.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction: \u2026. little is known about whether these factors significantly influence the risk of single-cell squamous carcinoma in older adults. Therefore, the objective of the current study is to identify relevant risk factors for single-cell squamous carcinoma in community-dwelling old-old adults.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of research objectives&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Research objective at an overall level can be divided into&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>General objectives: the broad goals of your study&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Specific objectives: Precise, measurable outcomes that you hope to achieve&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take an example:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General objective: To examine the therapeutic efficacy of convalescent plasma from donors with previous diagnosis of severe COVID-19 infection.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specific objective: To determine whether administration of convalescent plasma less than 72 h after the onset of symptoms could delay disease progression in individuals with mild COVID-19 infection.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to write good research objectives: Characteristics of a strong research question&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lots of resources will recommend the SMART approach for developing and writing your research objectives. SMART means that your research objectives are&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>S<\/strong>pecific&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>M<\/strong>easurable&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A<\/strong>chievable&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>R<\/strong>elevant&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>T<\/strong>ime-bound&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s an example of a poorly framed research objective:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><em>We aim to explore what affects life expectancy.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not specific (i.e., too broad). It\u2019s also not achievable: it\u2019s practically impossible for a single study to identify every single physical, physiological, social, psychological, and biochemical factor that affects life expectancy in all population groups.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s see if we can make this research objective better:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><em>We aim to identify the biochemical correlates of life expectancy in long-term institutionalized older adults.
